CHARACTER
Character Name: Bonnie
Age: About 7
Species: Human
Canon: Pokemon XYZ
Canon Point: End of series
Character Info: Here

Personality:

Bonnie is like many girls her age - happy, overly excitable, full of energy and loves cute things. What she loves most of all, however, are Pokemon, creatures that have various abilities and powers and inhabit her world in lieu of animals. With a mechanic father who dresses up at night to fight crime and an older brother who is not only a Pokemon gym leader but a genius inventor, Bonnie's childhood thus far has been interesting to say the least. She's seen and experienced a lot during her short life, everything from watching fearsome Pokemon battles and spectacular Pokemon performances to befriending legendary Pokemon and unknowingly taking care of them. She's met wonderful people and the lowest of the low. All of these experiences, before and after meeting Ash and Serena, have shaped her into someone special, someone whose love for Pokemon and compassion helps save the city she holds dear.

If there's one thing Bonnie isn't, it's timid. She's the exact opposite. She's incredibly friendly, sometimes a little too loud, excitable, and doesn't really know the meaning of personal space at times. She has zero fear of things a typical kid her age would be afraid of (ghosts, skeletons, dangerous situations, etc.) and instead finds them interesting, exciting, or even cute at times. Pokemon or scary situations that have her brother in tears or Ash and Serena screaming bloody murder have her in stitches with laughter or grinning with excitement. This lack of fear and overwhelming curiosity also gets her into trouble more often than not. Of course, she's not invincible - extreme violence or destruction outside the context of a Pokemon battle have her clinging to her brother or hiding her face in his shirt. Being completely lost and alone or losing her Pokemon are also tear-jerking experiences for the young trainer in the making.

Her determination to do whatever she sets her mind to and her stubbornness can be both a blessing and a curse for those around her at times, in a typical seven-year-old fashion. Despite her age, Bonnie is rather capable of taking care of herself. She always wants to do what her brother and Ash and Serena are doing, whether it's helping with setting up camp for the night or taking care of their Pokemon. She also enjoys the spotlight and being the center of attention, like most kids her age do. She's not completely independent by any means, depending on her brother to cook for the two of them and act as her guardian, but she does her best to carry her weight when she can.

Speaking of her brother Clemont, Bonnie looks up to him more than anyone else. She absolutely adores him and thinks his inventions are incredible, even if she gives him a hard time when they blow up in their faces more often than not. She recognizes his genius, both as an inventor and gym leader, and is proud to call him her brother. She depends on Clemont a lot, with him acting as her guardian, and has the poor boy wrapped around her finger. Being far more timid and quiet than Bonnie, Clemont usually gives into her requests (unless they're outrageous) and it was her request for him to catch Dedenne for her that landed her with the little mouse Pokemon. Clemont is the person she runs to when she's upset for comfort, unless she's mad at him. She may love her brother, but that doesn't mean he doesn't scold her from time to time for being stubborn or running off.

Serena is like an older sister to Bonnie and the two share a strong bond. If Clemont isn't around then Bonnie looks to Serena for comfort. The two share a tent together, and enjoy shopping and the finer things in life that Ash and Clemont don't necessarily appreciate sometimes. Bonnie isn't as close to Ash as she is Serena but she does think he's pretty incredible, if not a little dumb at times. She adores Pikachu, however, and usually sleeps with Pikachu and Dedenne in her sleeping bag, taking care of both the electric mice Pokemon whenever she gets the chance.

The extent to which Bonnie cares about Pokemon, especially the Pokemon in her care, is shown in the way she risks her life without thinking twice to save them. It is the compassion, care and love that Bonnie shows Squishy, a Zygarde core, that allows her to reach the Pokemon Zygarde when it had been under the influence of Team Flare and stop it from utterly decimating Lumiose City. She comes very close to being killed in doing so but manages to get Zygarde to recognize her in the end. It was thanks to Bonnie's care and protection she had shown it prior that Zygarde decided that not all humans were terrible creatures and were worth more than it originally thought.

It's worth mentioning Bonnie's relationship with Dedenne as well. While Dedenne isn't technically her Pokemon, since Clemont caught him for her, he's bonded to Bonnie and incredibly fond of her. He has no problems taking orders from her and makes his home in Bonnie's pochette or atop her head. Unfortunately for Bonnie, Dedenne is a glutton and his desire to be fat overpowers him at times. He also has an unfortunate habit of falling asleep when he's needed. Despite these faults, Bonnie loves him dearly and probably spoils him a little too much.

Abilities:

Bonnie is, for the most part, a normal little girl. However, she has a not so normal companion - Dedenne. The electric/fairy type little mouse Pokemon is capable of three moves - Thundershock, Tackle, and Nuzzle.

While she may not be too different from other girls her age, Bonnie is somewhat of a Pokemon whisperer. She has a knack for understanding their needs and the love and care she has for all Pokemon is something these creatures pick up on. This allows her to befriend all sorts of Pokemon, from the most common of sorts to even the legendary Pokemon Zygarde. Physically she's got the strength and energy of a typical seven year old and has no problem climbing rock walls or trees and enjoys swimming.

CARNIVAL
Soul Colour: Yellow
Ideal Jobs: Animal Keeper or Beast Tamer
Relevant Experience:

Bonnie. Loves. Pokemon. Taking care of them is her passion. She has zero fear of the creatures, big or small, and puts all her energy into making sure Dedenne and Squishy the Zygarde core are well looked after. She also delights in taking care of her brother's Pokemon, along with Ash and Serena's, feeding, brushing and playing with them when given the opportunity. She goes to great lengths to do this, nor does she have any qualms befriending and taking care of wild Pokemon she encounters. I would imagine the same care and love would apply to normal animals as well, and she'd be more than excited to take care of them. She's also fond of Serena's Pokemon performances and finds everything about them incredible, so I can see her having a knack for performing if she got into it due to her confidence, lack of stage fright and her ability to understand and bond with non-humans.

Reason for Joining:

Despite the warning she received by multiple employees of the Carnival, Bonnie found herself wandering into a haunted house exhibit. Apparently jump scares aren't something that Dedenne appreciates; feeling threatened after being spooked the little mouse Pokemon shocked the unfortunate employee and the rest is history. No matter how much she apologized or how many tears she cried the answer was still the same - to make amends for what her Pokemon had done she'd be indebted to the Carnival.

Thanks Dedenne.
